Who am I?
Therapy is a relational space where in, if the therapeutic alliance isn’t there, the work just doesn’t happen. So here’s a little bit about me to share in case there might be something to connect with.
I was born in Laredo in south Texas and grew up between there and Dallas in north Texas. I never developed a connection to the Dallas area but never lost my connection to the Rio Grande Valley. As soon as I turned 18-years-old I moved to Port Townsend Washington where I lived for a few years homesteading with friends and learning about farming and small impact living.
Port Townsend being a major tall ship sailing hub with it’s wood boat school it was impossible not to get swept up into that community. Sailing quickly brought me to the Hudson River here in New York to work on the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater. Onboard I learned and taught about river ecology and sailing.
Eventually, college became a priority for me, so I moved back to Washington to attend The Evergreen State College. After graduating with a degree in Multi-Cultural Psychology I moved to Seattle where I worked in various capacities as a counselor to foster care youth in group homes, a group home for queer and trans houseless youth, and then as a domestic violence counselor for an LGBTQ organization.
That work lead me to commit to studying social work. I attended Smith College School for Social work and earned my masters. Since graduation I worked in clinic settings working with some of the most marginalized folks in NYC and then eventually I moved to Kingston NY where I started my private practice. Here I specialize in working as and IFS therapist for queer, trans and folks of color. I’m committed to being a resource for sex workers, folks in kink community, people at any point in their immigration status.
